The directory connects individuals with mental health therapists, coaches, healers, and practitioners who prioritize radical and liberatory approaches to holistic well-being. It is a resource for those seeking support that challenges Western, settler-colonial frameworks and centers historically oppressed communities’ unique needs and experiences.
The directory is managed by Pat, a dedicated licensed therapist & visionary who is deeply committed to liberation-focused mental health. They are joined by a team of staff members who maintain and curate the directory, ensuring it remains a valuable resource for all users.
Providers are selected based on their alignment with LWN’s core principles of social justice, community care, and personal empowerment. They must demonstrate a commitment to radical and holistic approaches to mental health that prioritize the needs of historically oppressed communities.
However, LWN staff cannot automatically guarantee a good of fit and safety within the therapeutic or healing relationship. It is essential to vet your practitioner, trust your experiences, and seek support from your community, family, and friends.
Inclusive healthcare is an approach that recognizes the unique needs of historically oppressed groups and seeks to offer care that is affirming, culturally competent, and justice-centered. It rejects the “one-size-fits-all” model and strives to meet people where they are.
We know that the mainstream healthcare system has historically perpetuated harm, particularly on Black, Brown, Indigenous, 2SLGBTQIA+, People of Color, disabled, and other violently oppressed communities. Our focus on anti-oppressive care aims to counter these injustices by fostering spaces where everyone can receive compassionate and respectful support.
LWN operates on a mutual aid model, so there are many ways to support us! You can donate, offer pro-bono or sliding-scale services, or share resources with the community. Find out more here.
The directory is updated every 2-3 weeks to ensure the information remains current and accurate. New practitioners are added, and existing listings are reviewed periodically.
We partner with a diverse group of providers who offer a wide range of services, including psychotherapy, coaching, peer support, spiritual guidance, birth support, Indigenous healing practices, and more. Each practitioner offers a unique approach to mental health and well-being, catering to diverse needs and preferences.
Finding a compatible provider can take time. We recommend reading provider bios carefully, reaching out with any questions, and scheduling a consultation to see if their approach aligns with your needs. Trusting your own experiences and instincts and reaching out for support from friends or family can also help. You can search for providers who specialize in areas connected to your experience, such as therapy for chronic illness, trauma support, community healing, neurodivergent-affirming therapy, birth support, etc. Learn more about how to find a therapist here.
If your needs or preferences change, feel free to explore other options. Remember, this directory is a resource for finding practitioners, but you’re free to continue or end any therapeutic relationship based on your comfort and growth.

At LWN, we aim to keep the directory accessible by using an equitable, tiered pricing model that recognizes the unique experiences each provider brings. We know that economic justice cannot be separated from other aspects of identity, like race, gender, or ability, and our pricing reflects this understanding. While there is a fee to join, it’s designed to accommodate different financial situations, making space for everyone who aligns with our justice-oriented approach. We believe that liberation starts with expanding access for all.

Being listed in this directory does not guarantee inquiries or contact from potential clients. The mental health directory serves as a resource to connect individuals with practitioners who align with our principles of social justice, community care, and personal empowerment. However, each practitioner’s ability to attract clients may vary, and we cannot guarantee that listing in this directory will result in specific outcomes or inquiries.
If you do not find an individual that fits your specific needs, please consider exploring other mental health directories listed on our Mental Health resources page.
We are not directly affiliated with any of the therapists, providers, or organizations listed in the mental health directory. While we strive to include radical, liberation-focused practitioners, the directory serves as a resource for information only. We encourage you to thoroughly vet any provider you choose, trust your instincts, and lean on the support of friends, family, and your community when making your decision.
Each licensed practitioner operates under their own state’s rules, regulations, and boards. For individuals who are not licensed professionals, such as coaches, there are currently no regulatory practices governing their work.
