I have over a decade of experience helping people heal from Eating Disorders and OCD. I know meaningful recovery and a more liberatory life is possible due to my own experience as an eating disorder survivor- and I love helping others find this same freedom!
The recovery process is daunting, scary and feels like jumping off of a cliff or letting go of a life raft- and while no two journeys are the same, my experience gives me deep empathy for anyone struggling. I take a Relational Psychodynamic, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Neurodiversity Affirming and Liberation Psychology approach to help you find meaningful recovery. I often also incorporate techniques from Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Inference Based Therapy (I-CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). These modalities, along with the foundations of which I practice, help us not only manage symptoms, but get to the root of your suffering so that recovery has a chance of lasting a lifetime. Above all, your right to self determination and autonomy is a top priority to me as I believe building self trust is an integral part of healing from both Eating Disorders and OCD.
In therapy with me, we’ll build a trusting and caring relationship, gently explore what’s beneath the surface of your eating disorder—the pain, patterns, and stories that deserve to be heard with compassion. Over time, with compassionate witnessing, narrative reclamation, embodiment of secure attachment and new ways of coping- the parts of you that are hurting can let go of their stories. Recovery can look different for everyone and doesn't have to fit the narrow definitions of mainstream recovery- you get to define what this looks like for you. I act as a supportive guide with helpful insights and tools, but ultimately you direct the path we move towards. I would be honored to walk alongside you in this journey- reach out today for a free consultation call to see if we’d be a good fit!
“If I didn't define myself for myself, I would be crunched into other people's fantasies for me and eaten alive.” -Audre Lorde
