Bio

If you're queer, trans, gender expansive, kinky, poly or an organizer: Welcome. It's hard to be human right now. You deserve a space that gets you and honors your identities. Slowing down and bearing witness to the stories our bodies hold is a radical act of love and liberation. Let’s do it together.

I'm trans, nonbinary, and provide liberation-oriented, abolitionist, somatic therapy.

I get how exhausting it can be to find supportive spaces where you have the freedom to let your identity expand and evolve. I welcome folx from queer, trans, kink, poly and activist communities. Together, we co-create a space where you can slow down, tune into your self, and experience authentic change.

As a trans, non-binary therapist, I hold how systems of oppression and transphobia impact how gender expansive and queer folx feel about our bodies. I honor where you are moment-by-moment and give your body and mind space to feel. I hold space where we can name and acknowledge systems of oppression and in the therapy space and understand the stories and experiences our bodies hold because of them.

Through somatic therapy, we explore your present moment experience via your thoughts, emotions, sensations, memories, and body movement.  I help folx navigate gender transitions and affirming care, tap into gender euphoria, and better understand how to meet to your body’s responses with understanding and care.Together, we use a queer lens and liberatory framework so  you can experience your thoughts, feelings, and lived experiences from a place of greater safety. Working this way can lead to more awareness and freedom so you can live the life that feels most aligned with your authentic self.

Many folx ask me if they need to be queer to benefit from a radical, queer lens. No! I believe everyone benefits from a queer, radical lens to therapy, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation.

I believe that you are the expert on your life and lived experiences, define your own goals, and that my role ranges from support to collaboration. Get in touch, and let's get real about how you can feel supported in your life.

Additional offerings

Surgery assessment and letter preparation

Gender affirming care is part of regular ongoing therapy. I  also reserve one slot per month for free gender affirming surgery assessment and letter writing preparation. I offer this service separately from standard weekly or biweekly therapy for folx who need a letter of support but are not interested in seeing me for ongoing therapy. If you are in need of a letter for gender affirming services, please contact me for more information.

Pro-bono somatic resourcing amid state violence

To all the folx mobilizing on the front lines, engaging in mutual and direct aid, and to those directly impacted by state violence, I see you. Activism and organizing is embodied resistance, and as you ride the waves of rage, grief, anger and community as you use your body to fight for liberation, you also deserve care.I have several slots open for pro bono, time-limited, virtual somatic resourcing sessions. These sessions are available to anyone residing in the state of California. During two 50-minute sessions, we will:

  • Map out how your nervous system is responding (fight, flight, freeze, fawn)
  • Give you tangible, practical, culturally responsive tools, accessible to your unique body, that you can use to nourish and sustain your body for sustainable activism
  • Practice these tools in session and practice co-regulation strategies
  • Discuss aftercare strategies to help you find sips of safety
  • Give you tools that you can take back into your communities

Areas of focus

The field of psychotherapy has a long lineage of colonization, and has historically not met the needs of many communities, particularly the BIPOC, queer and trans communities. While I honor the teachings and teachers who have guided me along the way, I also hold that most westernized healing frameworks, including many listed below, are appropriated from traditional indigenous healing practices, including somatics, storytelling, mindfulness, and movement.
As a human, I hold your cultural and relational needs as my primary focus. We collaborate together, holding your humanity above any particular modality. As a clinician, the below modalities and professional trainings inform my work:
Relational Somatic Healing: A modality that aims to heal relational and developmental trauma, helping folx develop and experience healthy secure relationships within themselves and outside the therapeutic setting
Relational Somatic Healing: A modality that aims to heal relational and developmental trauma, helping folx develop and experience healthy secure relationships within themselves and outside the therapeutic setting
Internal Family Systems Therapy: A collaborative model that uses a parts work lens to heal trauma
Experiential Therapy: A form of therapy that uses present-moment awareness to foster new reparative and healing experiences in session
Emotion-Focused Therapy: An attachment-focused method of therapy for relationships that fosters connection and new, positive cycles of interaction
