Bio

I'm a queer and neurodivergent Indian therapist with over five years of experience in providing mental health support to couples* and individuals. I believe the relationships you share with the people and communities around you matter and influence your mental health significantly.

Here's some things you may want to know about what the journey with me would look like -

  • I'm passionate about working with couples and queer and neurodivergent individuals.
  • As a couples therapist, I love to explore the ways in which care, love and understanding exist between partners even through conflicts and build on those stories. In sessions, we explore how our childhood wounds show up in our relationships and how curiosity and vulnerability can deepen connections between people.
  • I'm skilled in providing trauma-focused therapy and integrate the arts in my sessions to safely explore the ways in which feelings show up in the body, for both individuals and dyads. (You absolutely don’t have to be ‘good’ at art to engage in art therapy.)
  • Therapy with me involves feedback often! I care about how you’re feeling about our sessions. Wondering if therapy is even working? Find yourself dreading sessions when you don’t have anything to talk about? Bring it up with me, I see it as a sign our relationship is real and authentic. I promise you, it won’t hurt my feelings!
  • In sessions, we'll often talk about how we're feeling toward each other and how our relationship mirrors your other relationships. Together, we can work to co-create a space where we’re both gentle, respectful and authentic with each other.

*I’m aware I’ve said ‘couples’ a lot for ease of communication, but relationship therapy can be for any pair of people looking to deepen their relationship with each other. I welcome siblings, friends, roommates or chosen family as well!

Here’s a little bit of what I’m like outside of the therapy room
In my free time, I alternate between reading literature about intersectional mental health and watching the cringiest reality t.v. I can find on the internet. My other interests include writing and painting. In case I am doing none of the above, I am likely plotting how to queer everything or demanding affection from reluctant cats.

Accommodations

I provide reminders to my clients the day before for therapy. Additionally, I provide sessions over text-message for chronically ill folks or encourage my neurodivergent clients to keep their video off if it would help them mask less. I encourage stimming in sessions. I have a section in my intake form for any other accommodations a client may need and encourage you to use that space!
