Bio

Ishita is a queer-identifying (she/they), certified trauma counseling psychologist based in India. They currently practice feminist, decolonized, queer-affirmative therapy with a clientele that consists primarily of adult women and queer persons with varying ethnicities, nationalities, immigration statuses, and cultural/religious backgrounds.
As a part of her work, she talks to clients about everyday liberatory practices, helping them manage some of the intense emotions caused by institutions on smaller scales like families, workplaces and communities, and also larger ones like government policies and legal authorities.
Outside of work, they are a beginner sewing enthusiast who loves drinking cocktails, listening to audiobooks, and relaxing with her cat.

Areas of focus

I use eclectic therapy techniques like somatic therapy, internal family systems (parts work), narrative therapy, and occasionally cognitive behavioural therapy as well.
