Bio

Hi! I'm Jackie Rodriguez (she/they). I'm a Queer, Trans, and Latine therapist who believes in creating spaces for healing, growth, and self-discovery. My journey to therapy has been shaped by my commitment to social justice, my lived experience as a psychosis survivor, and my passion for supporting those navigating their unique paths with compassion and care. I'm dedicated to helping my clients feel seen, understood, and empowered to explore and affirm every part of who they are.
I think of my life existing in two distinct parts; pre-psychosis and post-psychosis. Before my psychotic break, my dissociation levels were constant, having to navigating masking as a man and the dissonance I felt between that and my true self. Through a series of unfortunate events (oh so so unfortunate), I ended up in psychosis for about a month. During this time, I started going by Jackie and was loud about my transness. Since then, my journey has involved not only being out when I feel safe, but also being out because it is necessary for my happiness. My support system has made me realize that I’d rather by visibly out and not hide who I am. Hiding myself was taking an internal toll, and saving myself conflict with other people. I'd rather love myself and be myself and deal with external stressors than internal. Doing so leads our communities to accept us (AS THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN).
