Areas of focus
My therapeutic approach is trauma-informed, strengths-based, humanistic, feminist. and emotion-focused.
I actively incorporate our relationship, the therapeutic alliance, into sessions which may look like checking in on how a moment felt to you,
asking questions like, Do you feel I am understanding what youre going through?," and/or connecting through humor.
You are encouraged to show up to sessions however you feel the most comfortable: wear what you want, don't turn on the camera if you aren't feeling it, use curse words if you got 'em, or use the support of your pets to help during difficult sessions.
I use what is called the, "biopsychosocial model," which highlights a persons physical health, psychological health, and social health.
I tend to draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), CBT for Insomnia, and Somatic Therapy.
