Bio

hey hi, shannon here! i'm a queer, nonbinary, neurospicy, multi-ethnic cancer survivor, certified breathwork facilitator, and founder of collectively well.

my healing approach is grounded in authentic self-care and real-world wellbeing. to me, authentic self-care means slowing down, tending to the nervous system, and unlearning the patterns of perfectionism, urgency, and self-abandonment so that care becomes truly nourishing rather than surface-level. real-world wellbeing is how that care extends outward — unlearning our inner oppressor while also practicing community care, building relationships of reciprocity, and creating structures that sustain collective healing. together, they remind us that personal healing and collective liberation are inseparable.

i’m based in san diego after five years in new york city that culminated in deep burnout and, in the middle of the pandemic, a cancer diagnosis. that experience became both a rupture and an initiation — a spiritual awakening that called me to slow down, heal from the inside out, and commit to unlearning whiteness and the harmful programming of capitalism.

when i'm not holding space, i'm probably dancing, practicing yoga, going for long walks, laughing, crying, leaving long voice notes, responding very slowly to texts and emails, reading or watching the sunset.

Areas of focus

my focus is on creating trauma-informed spaces for healing through mindfulness and meditation, conscious connected breathwork, and authentic Self-care practices. at the core of my work is helping people slow down, step out of harmful conditioning, and reconnect with what truly matters in their lives.

i guide individuals and groups in using the breath to process emotions, regulate the nervous system, and access a sense of presence that often gets lost in the noise of daily life. my approach honors the eastern and indigenous roots of breathwork and the buddhist origins of meditation, while also weaving in mindfulness, creativity, and playfulness. i believe healing isn’t just about doing the deep inner work — it’s also about remembering joy, cultivating connection, and creating space to breathe.

i am especially passionate about serving the lgbtqia+ and cancer communities, making wellness accessible, and bridging breathwork into mental health care. much of my work lives at the intersection of personal healing and collective wellbeing, whether in community programs, behavioral health centers, or nonprofit partnerships.

ultimately, my work is about supporting people in building sustainable practices of care — practices that allow them to pause, reconnect with themselves and their communities, and move forward with greater clarity and compassion. the breath is the entry point, but the deeper invitation is to come back to what matters most.
