Bio

Vernitta was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She is the mother of two little boys and a wife. Her family is originally from the Bahamas.

Vernitta brings a wealth of experience from both a business and music background. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Criminology and Bachelor of Arts in Music from Barry University in Miami, Florida, her Master of Business Administration from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona, and recently completed her studies in the Master’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Grand Canyon University.

Vernitta is also a certified Spiritual Life Coach from the Dharma Coaching Institute, a Reiki practitioner, and she has an extensive history of experience working with many different populations including youth and adolescents, adults, at-risk youth, and immigrants.

Her approach to counseling is flexible, but she enjoys using a Cognitive Behavioral approach and Mindfulness Based approach to therapy.

Vernitta desires to make a positive impact in the counseling field by providing professional mental health services with a holistic approach to counseling that includes the mind, body, and spirit of individuals.

She enjoys singing, songwriting, creating music, producing, and allowing myself to be creative. She also enjoys the beach, spending time with family and friends, traveling, wandering, and being outdoors in nature.

Vernitta believes in the importance of truly knowing and understanding oneself to create a healthy life.

As a Registered Mental Health Intern, Vernitta is a pre-licensed professional and is currently working under the supervision of Lindsey Horvatich, LMHC, LPC, QCS.
