Visions For The Future

In a world where there are infinite possibilities, our minds are our biggest limitations. We are limited by a lack of creative inspiration, unhelpful thought patterns, and an inability to dream big. The question isn’t “what can you do”, it’s “how can you do it”. To dream of a future, to put hope into possibilities, to act on faith – this is how we heal. Whether it’s dreaming of a life without panic attacks or a world without fascism, it is possible as long as we believe it is.

How do we do this? We build relationships. Relationships with our thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations. Relationships with those nearby and those far away. Relationships with food and movement and our favorite hobbies. Relationship to nature and the world around us. Relationships are not static, and each one looks different. But if we can surround ourselves with helpful and positive relationships, the possibilities are endless.

My dream? For healing to be community-centric instead of provider-centric. Instead of leaving your community to attend anxiety-provoking doctor’s appointments, what if the doctor came to you? Imagine a community center with a library, cafe, dance classes, music studios, game room – a place to exist happily as an adult. And the upper floors of that same building are healthcare providers: therapist, naturopaths, personal trainers, doulas, prescribers, etc. Healing that is centered around community.

In change, there’s hope. In destruction, there’s opportunity. In death, there’s rebirth. And in community, we can do it all.
